Gaming is a huge interest of mine, and the PS3 is my console of choice for the most part. I know they’ve made a lot of mistakes, but this generation has been the generation of mistakes in a lot of ways, while still providing excellent games and amazing experiences.

As far as other systems go, I have had a DS lite since 2006, I bought my first and only PSP, a 2000 in 2008 and I have a Wii from launch in 06. I recently upgraded to a new PC which isn’t exactly top of the line but it runs all the new games at 720p just fine on our old school 20 inch square TFT screen. This means I can play many titles formerly out of my reach such as Left 4 Dead and all the valve games, dirt and essentially an endless list of more.

So I basically own every system of this generation except the Xbox 360. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that while Halo and Gears of war are very good games, I don’t care enough to buy a whole system and pay for a live subscription just for them. The second is that I prefer Sony’s lineup of exclusives anyway. The third is that the 360 is an overpriced piece of crap that breaks. I also dislike how Microsoft make out that the system is so affordable but when you add all the extras up, it’s way more expensive than the PS3, at least for someone like me who requires things like wi-fi and controller chargers. The final reason is that because I now have a good PC, I can play a lot of the games that I used to think were essentially 360 exclusive. But I suppose saying that, things could change if Microsoft make the effort to fix everything, but they probably won’t.

I’m not really your typical gamer who plays mostly shooters. I enjoy pretty much every type of game so I really try to play as much varied stuff as I can. Although saying that, I also like playing shooters, but mostly co-op ones like Resistance 2, Left 4 Dead, borderlands and Resident Evil 5 (if you can call that a shooter). As far as competitive goes, I’ve played some CoD 4 / 5 and Killzone 2, but no where near as much as my bro who really digs the competitive side of shooters.

Moving away from shooters, some of my favourite genres include driving games, action, RPGs, platformers, casual games (especially from popcap) and also some sports games. Not to mention RTS, MMOs and sometimes fighting games, especially smash bros.

So that’s a brief introduction to my gaming habbits. My favourite game right now is probably LittleBigPlanet. I think Media Molecule are an amazing company that others should aspire to emulate. I love how they really took a calculated risk in creating an incredibly innovative game, and pulling it off perfectly. It’s a lesson in good game design, and shows that not all good games have to have guns in them to be popular.

Below is my PSN ID. They now have a US version which I can also use. The EU one provides more info like recent games played, but the US one has a more simple black style which I like. I can’t choose between them so why not have both? It is my site after all.
